Pamela Vale brings her unique creations to East Greenwich...by Rebecca McNeil 2005

Below is an excerpt from an article by Rebecca McNeil, in The East Greenwich Pendulum, Thursday, July 21, 2005

"Through-out time, artists have been greatly influenced by the climate in which they live...And today, a California transplant is also enjoying the influence of the New England seasons while she creates her art. Pamela Vale has been a decorative artist for over 16 years, painting murals and creating decorative finishes and home accessories. Currently she creates custom jewelry, fulfilling her life-long passion for jewelry and beads. Vale has come a long way from the west cost, and she says Rhode Island inspires her art...nothing is re-made, which makes each bracelet, set of earrings and necklace completely unique. The pieces are so original that Vale sometimes has a hard time selling them. "it's difficult to part with such beautiful things, and I put so much of myself into everything I make." but she also enjoys the artistic process of creating and then letting it go...Vale began painting murals 16 years ago, after receiving a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. A herniated disk, coupled with feeling creatively stifled, led to Vale's decision to cut back on home decor and focus on jewelry... In addition to jewelry, Vale's passion is charity work...Vale says she has the pleasure of working with Sue and Josh Brandis owners of Nepenthe Cafe on Main Street in East Greenwich. ..Vale's show at Nepenthe Cafe takes place during the third Thursday of every month in conjunction with the East Greenwich Stroll. The Brandis and Vale began this monthly event together because of their mutual interest in the Make a Wish Foundation..."I think it's an incredible charity" said Vale, who had the honor of designing the signature bracelet for Make a Wish...It seems Vale has found a way to balance both her passions-charity and jewelry..."
