"Local woman has art at her fingertips"
The East Greenwich Pendulum
By: Heather Lightner
May 4, 2006
"...When children are born, it is customary for hospital staff to take fingerprints and footprints - for parents, this piece of documentation is more cherished than a typed birth certificate - for it is indelibly stamped with the mark of someone unlike anyone else in the world.
Imagine that instead of tucking these prints away for posterity in a fire safe in the back of some dark closet, you could wear these fingerprints, close to your heart, for the world to see. This was Pam Vale's vision _ to create something that is not just a beautiful piece of jewelry, but something that is a keepsake."
"...As the wife of a Warwick police detective, Vale also wanted to provide a tangible memento for families, like hers, that had a loved one in a high risk job or family member with a life threatening illness. She also felt that the charms might bring comfort to spouses and families separated due to military deployments."
"...Creative Potential has worked with a variety of charities, among them, The Make a Wish Foundation...Vale's company is also donation a dollar for every (Family Jewels) charm sold at The Green Door to a local organization Plan USA. Plan USA is a local organization dedicated to helping children, their families and communities in forty-six developing countries around the world."

Pamela Vale brings her unique creations to East Greenwich...by Rebecca McNeil 2005
Below is an excerpt from an article by Rebecca McNeil, in The East Greenwich Pendulum, Thursday, July 21, 2005
"Through-out time, artists have been greatly influenced by the climate in which they live...And today, a California transplant is also enjoying the influence of the New England seasons while she creates her art. Pamela Vale has been a decorative artist for over 16 years, painting murals and creating decorative finishes and home accessories. Currently she creates custom jewelry, fulfilling her life-long passion for jewelry and beads. Vale has come a long way from the west cost, and she says Rhode Island inspires her art...nothing is re-made, which makes each bracelet, set of earrings and necklace completely unique. The pieces are so original that Vale sometimes has a hard time selling them. "it's difficult to part with such beautiful things, and I put so much of myself into everything I make." but she also enjoys the artistic process of creating and then letting it go...Vale began painting murals 16 years ago, after receiving a degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. A herniated disk, coupled with feeling creatively stifled, led to Vale's decision to cut back on home decor and focus on jewelry... In addition to jewelry, Vale's passion is charity work...Vale says she has the pleasure of working with Sue and Josh Brandis owners of Nepenthe Cafe on Main Street in East Greenwich. ..Vale's show at Nepenthe Cafe takes place during the third Thursday of every month in conjunction with the East Greenwich Stroll. The Brandis and Vale began this monthly event together because of their mutual interest in the Make a Wish Foundation..."I think it's an incredible charity" said Vale, who had the honor of designing the signature bracelet for Make a Wish...It seems Vale has found a way to balance both her passions-charity and jewelry..."

Tricks to transform your flea market finds...Rhode Island Monthly Magazine, March 2003
"...Hoping to jump right in and upgrade an array of lackluster furniture this spring, we turned to experienced artist Pamela Vale. Vale is a furniture painting instructor at the Learning Connection in Providence and owner of Empire Celebrations (now Creative Potential) , a fifteen-year-old company specializing in decorative finishes, painted furniture and home accessories.
We're novices, we told her, with a short attention span and a hunger for a quick fix. Could she walk us through three or four easy techniques...to complement some of today's more popular decors...Whatever your taste, though, Vale's techniques will inspire you to give it a try..."

Preserving the past while renewing a Phoenix landmark
Presented by the Phoenix Symphony Auxiliary and Phoenix Magazine...The ASID Designer's Showhouse is their major fund-raiser of the year.
What was once a private residence grew into the Royal Palms Inn, a popular resort nestled in a citrus grove at the base of Camelback Mountain.
Under new ownership and after a multi-million dollar renovation the hotel re-opens as the Royal Palms and Casitas...to kick off the re-opening, the hotel was selected as the site for the 1996 American Society of Interior Designers Showhouse...one of the first showhouses to ever be done at a hotel.
Above are photos of the two casitas I was involved in creating...I contributed the decorative finishes, custom stenciling and decorative accessories.
